"The PCI Council's requirements for meeting PA-DSS compliance are extensive and complex, and very few ISVs have been able to meet them. To date, only 700 or so out of the tens of thousands of applications that are in scope for PA-DSS compliance have achieved compliance." Mr. Vinal continues "Although achieving PA-DSS compliance is a significant achievement, what I view as an even greater success is that we have implemented the changes in a way that will have minimal, if any, impact on our clients' operations. Furthermore, the updated software is being supplied as part of the standard free license upgrades that comes with being a Euclid client. This provides Euclid's clients the most straightforward and cost effective approach available to achieving overall PCI-compliance."

 

To achieve PA-DSS compliance, Euclid partnered with Datasurrant, a U.S. and Canadian Payment Application Qualified Security Assessor (PA-QSA) approved by the PCI-SSC council to conduct PA-DSS assessments and to complete the required Report on Validation (ROV).  The PA-DSS v1.2 standard consists of hundreds of requirements and completion of the ROV required interviewing Euclid's staff, extensive review and documentation of Euclid's software development and delivery procedures, detailed code and documentation reviews, and comprehensive hands on software reviews and testing in a PA-DSS certified test lab. Using the most advanced automated testing tools available, along with manual testing procedures, over 10,500 penetration tests were performed against Euclid's software, and none succeeded. Datasurrant's ROV, submitted to the PCI Council on June 22nd, 2010, found that ClearVantage "meets or exceeds all applicable criteria of the PA-DSS V1.2 requirements."

 

Mr. Vinal concludes that "this was a tough challenge that required a considerable investment by Euclid. However, in achieving compliance for our entire software suite, we have further cemented Euclid as the leader in our marketplace and, even more importantly, provided our customers with a tremendous head start in achieving overall PCI compliance."
