Bethesda, Maryland - Last week, Euclid Technology hosted its 2016 ClearVantage User Group Conference at the Bolger Center in Potomac, Maryland. This year's conference had its highest attendance yet! Nearly 150 Euclid clients and industry consultants traveled from across the US and Canada to learn more about ClearVantage, as well as network and share ideas with other users.

The 2016 conference kicked off with a keynote address by Charlie Vinal, Euclid’s founder and CEO. During the presentation, Charlie unveiled several new developments underway for ClearVantage and CV Online, the browser-based version of the software. The latest development, a Siri-like voice command feature, became the topic of conversation throughout the rest of the conference. Charlie demonstrated how it is possible to easily complete tasks by simply telling ClearVantage what you need to do.  Other highlights of the keynote included an overview of ClearVantage’s “Ultimate Dashboard,” how to fully capture and use business intelligence, and ways to personalize each member’s web experience.

On the second day of the conference, attendees were treated to a thought provoking seminar led by Colleen Nolan, Chief Strategy Officer of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, and Kathy Baughman, President of ComBlu. Nolan and Baughman’s session highlighted tips from their acclaimed e-book, Taming the Content Vortex: An Association Guide for Adopting Content Strategy. Their session covered many real world examples of how associations can create a sturdy and effective content strategy amidst a “content vortex” where members are bombarded with content across multiple channels.  How can associations make sense of all of that and best organize that content?  They discussed five common pain points associations face and steps that they can take to achieve an integrated content strategy that puts members first, generates excitement, and grows their organization.

Other sessions focused on enhancing ClearVantage users’ skills. Topics ranged from “Xtreme Report Writing” to “User-Generated Content” to “Precision Marketing” - and many more! Furthermore, since Euclid became a Certified Association Executive (CAE) Approved Provider earlier this year, a few sessions were CAE-eligible as well for the first time.

“I am thrilled with how this year’s UGC turned out,” exclaims Charlie Vinal.  “After each UGC, I think that we cannot top that one…and we did it again this year, thanks to our incredible clients and the positive energy that they brought to our conference.  We geared our sessions this year to be a mix of how-to and training, for users of all levels of experience; combined with some higher level, collaborative conversations on industry trends, web personalization, and other important association issues.”  Notes Vinal, “Beyond the sessions, what I truly enjoyed were the discussions that I had with so many of our clients throughout the UGC.  I got some great ideas, as did our staff, and we will take those back to the office to make our software even better. It is that partnership with our clients that truly makes Euclid what it is today, nearly 20 years after I founded it in my basement.  What a fantastic community and what a conference!”

After an energized awards ceremony (in which four associations were recognized for their innovative use of ClearVantage), Euclid’s UGC came to a close.  Euclid plans to host its next User Group Conference in the spring of 2018.
