Basically, if you have anyone in your database located in the EU, you will be subject to GDPR compliance. Yet the regulations go even further than that. The "Data Controller" definition is so broad that if an EU resident simply visits your website, and her IP address is tracked (e.g., for Google Analytics or if a cookie is placed), you must comply with the GDPR.
The GDPR uses the term Data Subject to refer to an individual located in the EU for which personal data is processed, and we will use this term in our ongoing communications.
To help you get started, Euclid has created reports that identify Data Subjects (if any) in your ClearVantage database. The reports are in ClearVantage Marketplace under a new functional area called "GDPR Compliance." The two "getting started" reports are:
- 01a GDPR Data Subjects Grouped by Country. This report provides a count of your Data Subjects (individuals) grouped by EU Country, and provides drill through ability to see the Data Subjects and open their ClearVantage profiles.
- 01c GDPR Individual Counts by Country - Not EU or USA. This report is used to identify individuals that are in countries where the country entered does not exactly match an official country name or country code.
