Is there an additional license cost for CV 9?
No. There is no additional license fee or license upgrade fee for CV 9 for current Euclid clients. If you are in Euclid’s Sapphire hosted environment, you will be upgraded to CV 9 at no charge as part of the standard update process.

Are any billable hours required to upgrade from CV 7 to CV 9?
There are billable hours involved in upgrading to CV 9 but the number of hours will vary depending on your current version, network configuration and business process customizations. If you are on the latest version of CV 7 (7.9.21), the upgrade will be very straight forward – on the order of about 4 billable hours (yep, 4 hours to upgrade your enterprise system – one of our competitors quotes 6 months to upgrade to the latest version!). Once you are upgraded to version 9, future upgrades (e.g., going from 9.01 to 9.02) will be much easier, as they can be deployed automatically. Our goal is that, once a client is on CV 9, they will continuously and seamlessly update using the automated deployment capabilities of CV 9.

Does CV 9 use multi-cart in all modules?
The Multi-Cart feature is available for Products, Events, Dues, Donations, and Subscriptions. Advertising is one of the few modules that does not utilize the multi-cart feature, however, advertising generally requires rate cards, contracts, images, documents, etc. and therefore does not lend itself well to a simple checkout process.

If you are transferring a member registration to a non-member using the new online feature, and there is different registration fee, will ClearVantage know that there is an outstanding balance?
The current online transfer functionality only allows the transfer of a registration to another individual who is eligible for the same price category as the original attendee received. For example, if the original attendee is a member and received a member price, the registration cannot be transferred to a non-member. The one caveat to this is the early bird registration rates – if the original registrant received the early bird and then transfers it to someone else after the early bird price ended, the new attendee will still get the early bird registration rate.

What functionality was used for the registration invitation we received with the one-click registration?
The functionality used is part of the enhanced email tracking available in ClearVantage 9 and the associated ClearVantage Web Service that is used for tracking clicks, opens, sends, etc. Each link in the email gets a unique identifier for the email. (This is not new – it’s what we use for tracking opens and reads.) What is new is that when the recipient clicks on a link and goes to the site, the CV Web Service is able to take the unique identifier and know who the customer is and then register that person for an event with one click. Note that if the webinar was not free and the user had to enter a payment, the user would have been required to login at that point to confirm his/her identity.

Do you think CV Mobile is a good substitute for other apps like Double Dutch, etc.?
Absolutely. CV Mobile Member provides an amazing experience for conference attendees. It includes an interactive conference directory, your personalized schedule that includes alerts (“your next session starts in 10 minutes in Ballroom A”), mobile check passes/ticketing, speaker and session evaluation surveys, recommended local restaurants, the local weather forecast, and other great features conference attendees will appreciate.

Is the Mobile feature automatically available with CV 9 or is there an additional cost?
There is an additional license fee for CV Mobile. If you are interested in more information, please email Dan Antonoff at dantonoff@euclidtechnology.com.

We are using a 32-bit server. Do we need to be running a 64-bit for CV 9?
CV 9 for users will work great on both 32 and 64 bit machines. If the servers are running CV Web Services or CV Application Services, there are separate 32 bit and 64 bit versions available. So no upgrade or change is required to run CV 9.

We have multiple websites using the web services. Can some use the old DLLs and some use the new as we upgrade to the newer web services?
It depends on what version of the web services you are currently using. So long as you are using a version of the web objects released after August, 2010 – basically the PCI-compliant/PA-DSS versions of the web services, existing websites should run fine although they won’t be able to take advantage of any new features. If you are using older versions of the web services, then the older websites may or may not work properly depending upon what functionality is being used.

Is there support for the Marketplace Add-Ins?
All reports in the CV Marketplace are provided as is. You may customize the reports for your business needs or request assistance from Euclid to modify the Marketplace report if desired.

I have to know... what happened to CV 8?
Windows 8! (and there really has never been a good version 8 of anything that we are aware of). Euclid had planned to release CV 9 to correspond with the release of Windows 9. Our internal testing of Windows 9 indicated to us that it is going to deliver an exceptional user experience – just like CV 9! Of course, two days after we announced the CV 9 launch date, Microsoft announced that it was going to call Windows 9 Windows 10 – totally messing up our marketing strategy!

Can we schedule items to post at a time/date in the future?
Yes. When you set up a social media campaign, you can schedule it to be delivered at any time in the future the same way you can schedule an email marketing campaign.

Is there any email analysis such as deliverability data?
Yes. All the email marketing and tracking for this webinar was done through ClearVantage. To send an email, users pull up an individual list of the people they’d like to send emails to. Then they select “Activity” and “Send Email Blast” from the dropdown menu. Users choose their email template, “From” and “Reply To” addresses, subject line, and select a campaign. The email is then ready to be sent or scheduled to send at any time in the future.

Once the emails are delivered, under “Marketing Campaigns”, users select the campaign they attached to the email. They then have access to a series of reports including a summary report of opens, clicks, and bounces, a detailed report of all actions taken at the individual level, a bounce report, and much more.

Does CV 9 support CLAS or a similar CLAS function?
CLAS is the “Chapter Leader Access System”, and you can continue to run CLAS as is. CLAS is a basic user interface that’s great for chapter leaders to be able to do things like lookup their members, register them for events, and other similar activities. What we’ve done for Elements 3.0 is we’ve added what’s called “A CLAS Toggle”. When a chapter leader signs into Elements, all the information available will be narrowed down specifically to that user’s chapter. So for example, if a chapter leader searches for a list of members, she will see a list of only the members in her chapter. So instead of having a separate application for CLAS, Elements is configured to act in a similar way, but with a cleaner and more customizable interface.

Is that (Customization) an 'Admin' feature or something any user to do on his or her own?
By default, only role administrators and system administrators have customization capabilities. We can enable it so all users have customization capabilities. However, it’s generally best to limit the number of “roles” at any one organization. This makes support more manageable: If every user had a unique setup and view of ClearVantage, it would become difficult to answer questions when they arise.

To what extent has the underlying data model been altered?
Minimally, very few changes have been made and that’s part of what allows us to easily upgrade clients from [the latest version of ] CV 7 to CV 9. There are some new fields available that allow you to control more of the CV 9 settings. For example, we have users that have really customized their CV 7 look and feel. A lot of users don’t know this but you can use stylesheets and templates to make CV 7 really your own. This will allow users to keep their CV 7 settings and views even after they upgrade if that’s what they’d prefer.

We won't be using pictures - will we still be able to get the easy list view of members instead of the big boxes with no picture?
Yes. “Card View” is a setting in CV 9. Also, by unchecking the “Card View” box at the top of individual lists, individuals are displayed in the familiar list style.

Can we have users on both CV 7 and CV 9 at the same time?
Yes. Users at your organization can be on both CV 7 and CV 9 at the same time. This means a small group of users can move over to CV 9 before everyone else in the organization to test it out. CV 7 and CV 9 can also both be installed on the same computer simultaneously.

A very popular webinar program is Adobe Connect, which is what we use. Are you thinking of creating a connection to Adobe Connect?
We have yet to look at Adobe Connect, but if that’s what many of our clients are using, we can certainly look into that for a similar integration. [Post webinar note – we looked at Adobe Connect – it looks quite promising and we are reviewing their API]

GotoWebinar - are you saying that if we register them in CV - it will also register them on the GoToMeeting event?
Yes. We’ve built in integration with GoToWebinar. At the event level, users specify their online host (in this case GoToWebinar) and then they specify their online host event. Unfortunately, GoToWebinar does not allow you to create an event outside of their application. However, when users register in ClearVantage, they are automatically registered in the GoToWebinar event as well. [post webinar note – sending conference registrations to gotowebinar or gotomeeting can be done in real-time (requires an upgraded web service to be installed) or in batch mode (from within CV 9)– some clients may prefer batch mode – e.g., you select a menu choice in the event to “Create GoToWebinar Registrations” )].
